PostSubject: Re: Skolo painting saloon   Skolo painting saloon - Page 2 Empty2nd January 2017, 7:53 pm

Abominations and Avatar
The Others 7 Sins
Tutorial:
1. Black primer as usual (C)
2. White airbrush cover from top - head, shoulders, arms, aboms heads. Had some problems with white consistency so some small dots are visible..oh well..
3. Working with airbrush and reds: Nebula Red (Minitaire) , Khorne, Mephiston, Evil Sunz (C)
4. Highlighted layers of orange and yellow: Lava Orange (V), FG Yellow(C)
4. Teeth with Skeleton Bone (V) and tongues with Black (V).
5. Wash here and there in recesses - Nuln Oil For gums, and Red for the rest
6. Skeleton Bone for teeth washed with Agrax
7. As usual my favorite technical - Blood for the Blod God Smile in mouths, where the meat is visible (C)
8. Shiny Gloss Varnish from Vallejo in aboms mouths, tongue, Avatar "hair" Smile
9. White watered down for teeth correction and nails. Black nails for Avatar - varnished with gloss
10. Yellow eye dots at the end.
11. Black bases
Because of the multiple layers of red you just need to be patient. Its very rewording at the end but it takes time for the paint to dry.

Great stuff again skolo.

One of these days, I will have to try an airbrush. I can never get my gradient looking quite like that with a brush. I'm not suggesting an airbrush is a panacea to my lack of skill, but it would be interesting to try.

Avatar of Sloth (The Others: 7 Sins)
This was a difficult to paint for many number of reasons (hidden teeth, some parts I wanted not to be washed etc. etc)
[C - citadel, V - vallejo]
1. Prime black (C)
2. Zenith prime dark grey (V)
3. Highlight light grey and light blue (V)
4. Blood for the Blood God for the spores with bones, head with neck, claws (C)
5. Drybrush with light greys and blues (V)
6. Wash all with Nuln Oil, "hanging" parts with Blue and Red washes (C)
7. Bones and teeth with Bone (V) [remember about small teeth around the neck as well]
8. Wash bone with Agragagx (C) and correct/highlight with Bone, mixture of Bone and White (V)
9. Blood (C) again on washed parts, thin layer (to make this blood shiny and slimy)
10. Drybrush "brain" and back, "shoulders" with light blue/light grey (V)
11. Base with Flat Black (Tamiya)

I think Pride is the best one thus far, though Death was a very close second. Once again, great job and thanks for sharing.

Oh my, those are lovely designs on the sails. I only have luck with simple design when it comes to free hand work. Excellent job, as always.
