Hi all,
I was watching the latest Beasts of War playthrough and came upon a ruling that seemed very odd to me.
At one point through the playthrough the Nemian Lion climbed to the top of one of the rocks, this gave him +1 Range which effectively turned his melee attack into a range 1 attack.
I understand that rocks give you +1 range, and it would make perfect sense for that bonus to apply to pre-existing ranged attacks (you're higher up, so you shoot further) - but to apply that bonus to a melee attack just seems... weird. Are the Lion's claws magically extended so he can hit farther? Does a sword become longer?
I realize this was probably done to streamline the rules, but it just seems awakward to me.
Am I alone here? Anyone else think it's strange?
I think I might houserule that the +1 range bonus only applies to attacks that have at least 1 range to begin with.
