| My goodness, very nice. My attempts with Realistic Water is never so nice. Are the waves just white paint or coloured Water Effect? How did you get it to suspend like that (or is that a very good optical illusion in paint)? Is that gradient of blue done on the base itself or did you have some trick with mixing dye into the Realistic Water? Do tell.

| Thanks kal91a,
The gradient is airbrush painted over the base. After that I've covered it with a Vallejo's product called transparent water that makes the wavy and brighted look. As this product is like a semi liquid resin, it allows to "suspend" some water on the rock. The final touch is a very light white paint for the foam on the top of the waves.

| Thanks esesen. I'll have to look into transparent water. I've been using the stuff the railroad terrain guys use for small ponds, though I understand that they use resin for things like big ponds and river. | |

| Yes. Perhaps transparent bases are more flexible, but for me, much more boring! Do you know how much I enjoy making different kind of bases for the minis? ;-) | |

| Ah, the difference between one who loves the game more vs one who loves the mini more. I confess I'm with esesen in the second camp. I'm willing to sacrifice a bit from better game play to have a nicer looking mini. | |

| Esesen, something just occurred to me. How would you put a siren on the base for sea? would you add her on top then pour more Transparent Water? Or do you have some other clever idea? | |

| kal91a,
This bases are tests. I'm not sure that I will be able to use them once I have the minis. Perhaps I will have to trim a little the water surface, glue the mini and then add more resin. Or I will make new bases and put the resin after glue the mini... Let's see!!!
